There is normally a high level a stress involved in divorce and it is not uncommon for communication to be strained. Reaching an agreement on who will sell the home, how much to sell the home for and what improvements should be made to market the home must be handled very delicately.
The home is normally the largest asset and both parties may be relying on their portion of the equity to help them after the divorce. For this reason it is very important that the home sells for as much as possible.

What to do next?
You will first need to determine if you are going to mediate or litigate your divorce. You should not even talk to an attorney until you attempt mediation. Couples that mediate are the couples that get all of their divorce costs paid. If you end up litigating, your divorce costs will be much higher, and may make it less possible for us to pay your divorce costs. Bottom line, you need to try mediation.
